Jenni + Sam’s Wedding- Cliffs at Glassy Chapel and Grand Bohemian Hotel

There is just something about a small wedding! Michael and I love the intimacy of a wedding with just a few guests. This wedding had around 20 total people including the amazing Jenni and Sam. We had an absolute blast getting to meet and know this awesome group of people. We fell right in with them and enjoyed getting to share in the joy for Jenni and Sam.
The reception was at the amazing Grand Bohemian Hotel here in Asheville. When I first walked in and saw this large feasting table in all it’s splendor I may have gasped.

And those chandeliers!

Jenni and Sam’s day started at the Grand Bohemian. Shout out to Zhenya for the hair and Elizabeth with Pop of Color for the makeup!

Jenni and Sam have a son together and Jenni has a teenage daughter and son. I love these moments with the fellas getting ready together.

The ceremony was at the gorgeous Cliffs at Glassy Chapel.

We love this moment with Jenni and her daughter; and Sam and the kids.

Moments before Jenni walked the aisle.  Jenni was escorted by her brother.

Naturally, Jenni and Sam’s son was the ring bearer. He rocked it.

The sand ceremony with all of the kids joining in together.

Onward to the Grand Bohemian!

Instead of an exit this awesome couple decided to through flower petals during the last song!

Congrats Jenni and Sam!

Now enough from us, here is a bit from Jenni and Sam!

A bit about Jenni: (From Sam!) She is the most beautiful and kind-hearted person I’ve ever met. She is an amazing mother and loves fall in the mountains of North Carolina. She is a business development consultant, loves children, road trips, remodeling old homes, and trying anything new.

A bit about Sam: (From Jenni!) Sam is a chiropractic physician and runs his own business. He loves doing anything hands on, including working on his cars and remodeling homes. He’s the most handsome, caring individual and greatest friend anyone could ask for. Most importantly, he loves being a daddy to his little boy.

How did you meet? A mutual friend introduced us. She thought we might be a good fit for each other.

Describe your first date? Our friend set us up on a lunch date. It was during that lunch that we realized how much we had in common, as far as how we were raised and some of the hobbies we had. We went to the movies the following evening and stayed up talking until the sun came up. We both knew it was something special then. It felt as if we had always known each other.

How long have you been together? Six years, ever since our first lunch date actually.

What are your favorite hobbies and activities to do as a couple? We love spending our time with the kids, boating, traveling, hanging out with friends, Sam teaching me how to golf, and road trips through the mountains in fall.

Who popped the question and HOW? Sam asked in an apple orchard in the mountains of Massachusetts. Who knew Massachusetts had mountains?! It was actually the most romantic thing he could of planned. At the end of apple picking he told me he wanted to take a photo of us together. We placed a phone in an apple tree and set it to record so we could just crop the picture out afterwards. It was when we were done posing for the picture that he started his proposal. I was so surprised, never thinking he would ask while we were picking apples but because of that we actually have the whole proposal on video. Smart guy. ?

Why did you pick the Cliffs of Glassy and The Grand Bohemian? We picked Glassy Chapel because we both knew we wanted to get married in the mountains. The Chapel encompassed both the amazing views and peacefulness of the mountains along with the charm of a traditional but cozy European chapel. We chose The Grand Bohemian because we both have an appreciation for ornate detail and craftsmanship. The rustic elegance of the Grand Bohemian allowed us to have the small intimate wedding we wanted while still enjoying all the elements of our dream wedding.

What adjective best describes your spouse on your wedding day?

Jenni-Radiant, beautiful, doe-eyed.

Sam- Stunningly delicious!

What tangible detail of your wedding day did you love the most?

Sam- Her dress.

Jenni- All of it….the dress, flowers, venues, and the food were all amazing and blew away my expectations. It was perfection.

How many guests attended the wedding? 20

What did you and your guests eat at the reception? Arugula Salad, Petit Filet and Rosemary Scented Chicken Breast Au Jus, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, & Asparagus..

What was the flavor of your wedding cake? Apple Hummingbird and Chai

What is the one of the funniest things that happened on your wedding day? There were many but the cutest were, Jackson the 2 yr old ring bearer saying, “Be nice” at the perfect time during the bride’s brother’s speech or when we tossed rose petals in lieu of sparklers or confetti and hearing one of the guests yell out, “ Someone took my pants!”

What was your first dance song and why did you pick it? Tennessee Whiskey by Chris Stapleton because we love the blues rhythm and it describes our thoughts on love and what it can be, and how those thoughts changed and expanded when we fell in love. We taught each other how great love could be.

What stood out to you the most when you think of your wedding?

Jenni- The ceremony in the chapel when we officially became one and united our family, I don’t think I’ve had a bigger smile or felt happier.

Sam- How beautiful Jenni was when I first saw her as the doors to the chapel opened and how lucky I felt.

What is on your “bucket list” to do together as a married couple? Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway in our restored 1965 Impala Convertible and travel to Ireland.

Shout out to these professionals that made this day amazing for Jenni and Sam!
