I, Meriah, had such a blast getting to photograph Lauren and Bill’s Biltmore engagement session this past weekend. We had about 6 inches of snow over the weekend. They were troopers about getting out in it and not to mention, the 17 degree air temterature. For the record, it was the coldest shoot I have ever done, but oh so worth it!
Lauren has been so gracious as to “guest blog” for us and here is what she and Bill had to say about the session and a little about themselves…
WHY BILTMORE FOR THE SHOOT:
Lauren and Bill knew they wanted their engagement photos to capture the snowy mountains that they both call home.
The first significant snow of the season ushered in temperatures in the teens for the shoot this past weekend at the Biltmore Estate. But the cold temps proved to make it even more of an adventure! The variety of snowy backdrops on the Estate grounds offered great natural elements for this shoot.
HOW THEY MET/HOW HE PROPOSED:
Though their families were waiting for the perfect opportunity to set Lauren & Bill up, they found each other on their own at the gym, and the rest is history. Evening walks together at a local lake quickly became part of their routine, and it was during one of their Sunday strolls that Bill got down on one knee and popped the question!
FAMILY-CENTERED:
Family is very important to both Lauren and Bill. Lauren wanted to incorporate a hand-sewn quilt made by her grandmother. It was the perfect touch to make their waterfall photos oh so special!
KNOW LAUREN?
If you think Lauren looks familiar, she does! In fact, she helps to wake up many people here in the mountains with the morning news. She is a reporter for News 13, the television news station here in Asheville.
Betty WyattThose were gorgeous. I can’t imagine being out in 17 temps taking those. The snow just added that extra special magic that you don’t see very often down here.
