What if your son is asked to be the ring bearer at a wedding you are photographing? Well, you bring help (my cousin Morgan) and you take lots of photos of his adorable cuteness. (Be prepared for lots of photos of the ring bearer and flower girl in this blog post!)
Michael’s cousin Haley married her Dane last Sunday at Appalachian Farm. She honored us by asking our Ezra to be the ring bearer. I didn’t realize then that this was really a great honor. I just envisioned my shy son clinging to my leg as I tried to shoot the ceremony. Little did I know that with some preparation and talking to Ezra that he would rock it. And, I mean he ROCKED it. I now also realize that not every little boy gets to be a ring bearer in their life time and Ezra loved the experience and was actually excited to walked down the aisle with that gorgeous little flower girl. (Smart boy, my Ezra.) Now, enough of me gushing over Ezra! (I’m one proud mamma!)
I have known Haley for about 10 years now and I love her so much… She and her sweet family. I feel like they are truly my family and not just Michael’s. We had the awesome opportunity to photograph her sister Heather’s wedding back in April and were equally as excited to photograph Haley’s wedding this October. Side note… 2 girls getting married in ONE year… their parents David and Cindy, I must say, did very well with it! Both Heather and Haley’s weddings were so different but so unique to each girl. I loved that. They are true to themselves and their weddings displayed just that.
I am proud of Dane too. He really does hate having his photo taken… ya’ll… like, really hates it. Michael and I quickly found out that candid moments were the way to get a photo of his good natured personality. He was a good sport about the photos and rocked them.
Well enough on that from us! Here is a bit more about the wedding from Haley and Dane!

Who popped the question and HOW? Dane did! He took me hiking at Dupont State Forest and I complained the entire time because my legs hurt from my workout that morning. Ooooppps… Haha! He took me in front of High Falls and told me to take some pictures of the falls and he was behind me. He said my name and I turned around and he was on one knee and popped the question. I cried, he had to tell me to get the ring and then Tucker almost knocked him off the rock into the river. It was sweet and comical!
Why did you pick Appalachian Farm Weddings as your venue? It fits us perfectly. Dane used to work on a farm in NY and we wanted a laid back country wedding.
