Michael here… Shua (short for Joshua), our close friend of many years, got married last month. A few of his attributes include being a gifted musician (he even played and sang at our wedding 8 years ago), a book reader who is always eager to have great discussions and tell stories of his own, an out of control collector of many various items ranging from guitars to belt buckles, a die hard Vespa rider, and a friend of Jesus. A couple of years ago we were hanging out at his parents house for the weekend and he told us about meeting a girl named Michelle. That evening, after everyone went to bed, he stayed up into the wee morning hours messaging her and laying the foundation for a future together. That part is history but I will say that she is awesome and so was the wedding! Take a peek into their big day…
Signs, signs, everywhere there’s signs!
This is Shua’s baby bonnet. Shua’s mom gave it to Michelle just before the wedding. We love that Michelle carried it with her bouquet. SO unique.
Shua’s mom also allowed Michelle to wear one of her pearl necklaces. I love all the family love in this wedding.
A very personalized cake…rock star and cheesecake! Shua doesn’t like regular cake so they had cheesecake instead. The mother of the best man made them and they were so delicious!
Meriah here… Michelle has two kids. We love how they were a part of the big day. Here is her daughter assisting Michelle with the dress. She is so lovely!
No, we did not stage this and yes those girls are adorable. They wanted to help the bride get everywhere. It was precious.
Our friend Shua. A little on the goofy side at times.
Michelle’s son getting suited up!
Meriah here… I mean, COME ON! Michelle is beautiful both inside and out. I have enjoyed getting to know her over this year. She is precious.
You would think this was Shua’s son, but this is indeed his nephew Charlie. We love Charlie and his stoic nature when a camera is pointed at him. GQ watch out.
Let the ceremony begin! I love, love, love that Katherine is winking at her son, Shua.
So let me tell you a little story. Charlie was less than thrilled about walking down the aisle. Uncle Joshua even had a sucker bribe…
Alas, Shua had to come down the aisle and get Charlie. It was one of my favorite moments of the day. I think Shua even got a little emotional as he walked Charlie down the aisle.
Here comes that beautiful bride.
Shua’s reaction made us all cry.
He may kill us for putting so many crying shots in this blog post but we can’t help it. The moments at this wedding were simply beautiful.
This sweet little flower girl wanted to pick her rose petals back up during the ceremony.
Modern Technology moments! A mutual friend was able to watch the ceremony all the way from Moldova. We love you Field and Courtney!
Some of our favorite moments always include candids of family and friends. While Meriah is taking the group photos Michael captures some of these moments with the bride and groom’s closest friends and family.
With the kids.
So we just want to say it was Shua and Michelle’s idea to do photos in the graveyard. Boy are we glad they did! We love how unique these shots are.
Shout out to Dwight Schrute III!!! (See series finale of “The Office” a personal favorite show of both Meriah and Shua)
We just want to say this was all Shua. ALL Shua.
Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Allen!
The kids looking on.
Two fresh new babies made their appearance at their first wedding.
How did this photo get in here?!
There was some serious heart in these toasts!
