As Asheville wedding photographers, Mountain Magnolia Inn is becoming one of our favorite venues in WNC. We love it’s classic southern style and the huge walnut and magnolia trees in the lawn. Rachel and Mike’s wedding was on a warm day in August. They were married under the shade of the very old black walnut tree.

Rachel and Mike are such amazing people. It was hard to not get a photo of these two smiling, especially Rachel. She kept saying, “I’m just so happy!” What a blessing it was to be part of this couple’s wedding. They showed us such appreciation and kindness.

Congratulations Rachel and Mike!

I loved the details of Rachel’s dress. It suited her so well and fit amazingly. I am a sucker for all lace as well.

“First looks” are some of my favorite moments. Rachel said she wanted this shot because it reminded her of one of her favorite moments in the movie “Beauty and the Beast”

It has been one year today since this couple was hitched on Max Patch. It was a simple and intimate wedding on a most beautiful mountain bald.

Here is a look back at their special day. Happy one year anniversary Jeff and Ashley!!!

Ashley and Jeff and I hiked up first. Jeff picked wildflowers along the way for Ashley’s bouquet. It was a simple detail to show off this wedding’s uniqueness.

While I took a few photos of Ashley and Jeff at the ceremony site, Michael met and led the rest of the families up to the top of the mountain. Jeff’s two daughters met them at the top with more flowers, hugs, and smiles.

During the ceremony everyone joined in two circles. Jeff’s family held hands in one and Ashley’s family held hands in the other. After a moment, all joined together in one circle signifying the two families becoming one.

Lavender is symbolic of love and devotion. It also means “the promise of a new adventure.” The three young girls in the family spread lavender around the circle.

Ashley’s dad officiated the wedding. He did an excellent job at making it extra fun, sweet, and personal to Ashley and Jeff.

Ashley took a moment in the ceremony to give Jeff’s two daughters flowers from her bouquet. She shared special words with the girls. It was a precious moment for sure.

Picnics, music, and games followed the ceremony and everyone had a blast enjoying the beautiful weather and the amazing scenery.

Megan and Brian were married in Pine, Colorado at Lower Lake Ranch. Michael and I flew out to Colorado to photograph this amazing couple getting married. I had never been to Colorado nor had ever seen the Rocky Mountains. What a privilege to capture this beautiful couple amongst such gorgeous scenery!

I first met Megan and Brian when they were planning their Asheville wedding back in 2010. They had booked us then for a wedding but then decided to move to Denver. Last year Brian reconnected and let us know they wanted us be a part of their wedding in their new hometown. They are kindred spirits and were so appreciative of us and what we do. This means the world to us.

Enjoy this rocky mountain destination wedding from a couple of Asheville wedding photographers!
