Maya and Alex’s wedding provided us with a great first time opportunity we had been wanting for a while…photographing an Indian wedding. It was such a unique experience and, of course, a play ground for photography. Such beautiful people adorned in vivid colors! Compared to traditional western weddings, the ceremony has many different traditions and a lot of participation by family and friends. Interestingly enough, this was their second wedding to each other. Alex is Serbian and they had previously had a ceremony in Serbia to celebrate their union with Serbian traditions. So cool!
Maya and Alex (and their families) were tremendously hospitable to us. Alex and I had a great time talking about capitalism and the great opportunities for foreigners in the US and he also taught me a few things about Serbian culture. Maya had Meriah photograph her Mehndi party the evening before their wedding day. She invited Ezra and I to attend and eat boat loads of Indian food. It was a great peek into other Indian traditions and we were glad to be their guests. Today marks the one year anniversary of their Indian Wedding. Congratulations and many blessings to Alex and Maya!
This was also our first wedding with Mary with Mary Bell Events. We enjoyed getting to work with her and she did an amazing job!
Emily with Emily Anne Hair did a fantastic job on Maya’s locks. Emily even has a way of making it a fun experience for each of her clients.
Shout out to Wendy with Blush Asheville for making Maya’s already beautiful face shine!
