• Welcome To Our Blog!

Hello! Michael and I are a husband and wife photography team in the Asheville area. We love to share in the lives of others. One way that we do that is through the lens of a camera.

We specialize in weddings and families and enjoy capturing those times that are priceless and irreplaceable. We do not have a typical photography studio thus the world is our studio.

So grab a cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy the journey from our perspective.

Ashely and Clay’s Biltmore Wedding (Asheville Wedding Photography)

You don’t hear of many people escaping from Florida to the mountains during the winter but Ashely and Clay and 308 of their friends and family travelled from Jacksonville and Pensacola to the beautiful Biltmore Estate to put on a wedding in excellent style!

The wedding party and all the guests had a chance to enjoy the estate’s amenities during the weekend and the weather proved to be lenient for this time of year. Michael and I prayed the morning of the wedding for the forecast of rain to hold off till after the ceremony and our prayers were answered!

The official ceremony took place on the front lawn. We then were asked to photograph all 308 guest in front of the house. This was our biggest group photo to date! After the photo the doors of the house were opened and all of the guest were treated to a private tour.

The ceremony was very impressive but, if I may share my opinion, not quiet as impressive as the reception. The real party started over at the south terrace under a tent that appeared more like a 5 star hotel’s ballroom. Shay Brown Events really knows how to impress! Plenty of delectable treats were served along with an all night performance by a 17 member band. One of the best moments of the evening was when Ashely’s parents surprised Ashely and Clay with an incredible firework’s show. You probably heard them if you were in Asheville on that evening!

Ashely and Clay were a delight to be with on their special day. They are so sweet, easy going, and super fun to be around. We are looking forward to their “Rock the Frock” in March when they will be back in the Mountains and at Biltmore.

Colleen and Charlie (Asheville/Waynesville Wedding Photography)

Photographing Colleen and Charlie’s wedding allowed me to get back to my hometown roots over in Waynesville, NC. On that matter, let’s not forget to mention that Colleen and Charlie are from Waynesville and now live in Austin, TX.

I met Colleen and Charlie through Colleen’s sister, Mary Claire. Other than doing Mary Claire’s portraits and senior photos I knew Mary Claire when I was a youth leader back in the day. Every member I meet of the Lane family has been fantastic and so sweet to us Mozingos.

Charlie is a golf pro back in Texas and Colleen is a wedding planner, so during this event one couldn’t help but notice some extreme organization going on. The coordination and additional planning was entrusted to Emily with Occasions by Emily. It was an enjoyable first time for us getting working with her and her staff! Everything went so well during the day.

The wedding was simply beautiful. We enjoyed seeing some old friends and meeting some new friends as well.

Congratulations Colleen and Charlie!

Remembering Heather

It is at times like these that you realize how fragile life is. To be honest I have really struggled to know what to say.

Heather Cooper was one of our brides in November of last year. She and Marc were married at Biltmore and Michael and I was there to capture their amazing wedding. Michael and I also got to hang out with Heather and Marc the day after their wedding for a rock the frock session. Michael and I instantly connected with this awesome couple and before the day was over they had invited us to their home in Kansas! That was the type of people they were.

Heather and I had kept up since here wedding in November. She wasn’t just a client who was in and out of my life, she had become a friend. She and I were just talking on Monday and she was giving me kind words of encouragement and was still saying sweet words about our photography. I am not saying this to brag on us, I am saying this to brag on Heather! She was such a sweet soul. She has such a beautiful personality and always said such kind things to us.

Heather passed away yesterday, and I have grieved her loss. The fact that I was just talking to her the day before is hard for me to wrap my head around. Even though I have only known Heather for a few short months, her loss is felt greatly. Looking at her facebook wall, I am guessing her loss is felt by so many others as well. I can not imagine the pain felt by Heather’s husband Marc and her 8 year old daughter Maddie. Please keep them in your hearts and prayers and they go through this unthinkable time of pain.

I wanted to share a few photos of Heather. My heart behind doing this is to give those who love Heather a few more pictures of her. It is a real and humbling thing to think that this is all that I have left of this dear one. I am blessed to have been able to capture some of Heather’s beauty and some of that spirited personality. I will treasure these pictures of her. Here are a few more pictures of Heather that I have not blogged and that are not on our website.

Heather was truly a gift and I am thankful to have gotten to meet her and share in her life.
