Hannah + Sebastian’s Asheville Wedding at the Crest!

It’s rare that we photograph a wedding of which the bride and groom actually live in Asheville.  By far, the majority of our clients travel from other parts of the country to be married here.  So with Hannah and Sebastian, it’s cool to have some of our “home team” as clients.  On the other hand, Hannah and Sebastian did bring in most of their family and friends from other states but that was the point.  They were excited to show off Asheville and all it’s beauty.  It was a great day filled with tangible love from everyone for this special couple!

This photo sums up part of why Hannah and Sebastian chose the Crest to be married at.  “We picked Asheville because that’s where we live, and long distance planning sounded like a nightmare. But most of our guest list was from the Midwest, so we knew if we were going to have all those people come from so far, we really wanted to showcase the beautiful mountains that brought us here! And the Crest Center was really our favorite spot as far as views and staff.”

Such a creative touch.  Each numbered table at the reception had a photo of the bride and groom from that age.

Such a sweet first look with Dad.  Love these moments!

First Look with Sebastian was quiet eventful!

SNAKE!!! And Hannah ran toward it but alas it had no desire to have it’s photo taken with the bride giving it some snuggles.

Candid moments are some of our favorite to capture. This was a jolly bunch of people and we enjoyed capturing their smiles.

Looking back on their wedding day this is their description of each other.  Hannah about Sebastian: carefree and joyful.  Sebastian about Hannah: stunning and blissful.

Above- Brothers of the bride giving the groom a warm welcome into the family, lol.

Sebastian grew up as an only child who moved around a bit but eventually landed in Indiana where he met Hannah. He traveled to Boone to follow his dreams of becoming a therapist and is now honing his craft in Asheville. His friends know how much and how heartily he loves to laugh, as well as how dark his humor can be. He’s also a super supportive and patient friend who’s great at listening as well as challenging you to be a better you.

Hannah grew up as the oldest of six in southern Indiana. She went to school for Elementary Education at IU where she met Sebastian and followed him to the mountains when he went to grad school at App State. Those who know her best know she’s authentic, goofy, carefree but cares about others.

Time for silly action shots.

Sweet moments with the flower girl.

This sweet little chunk was the recipient of endless doting throughout the entire wedding day.

The moment has arrived!  (It’s been 6 years since they met in college through mutual friends and had their first date at Chipotles!)

This “hand off” was super sweet. You can tell that Hannah and her daddy have a sweet relationship.

When we asked Hannah and Sebastian what was one of the funniest things that happened on their wedding day they said this,

“It was a clear day, no storms on the horizon, when during the ceremony, as soon as we declared our intent to marry, THUNDER boomed in the distance.”

One of our favorite things to capture on a wedding day is those moments and little details that occur during a wedding.

Happy for a rainless wedding day!

Let the toast begin! Hannah’s two sisters were first up to bat.

“Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur was our first dance song. Our first pick was “The Perfect Duet” but we heard this song and the lyrics fit our story as a couple better so it felt more “Perfect.”

The parent dances were super sweet.

We asked Hannah and Sebastian what stood out to them when thinking about their wedding day they said, “Honestly, how fun it was! And also how loved we are, so many people came and were so genuinely happy to celebrate our love, and that’s just so hard to replicate and describe in words.”

Here we have the anniversary dance.  I love this simply because of it’s testament of true love.  If my memory serves me right I think this couple has clocked in over 60 years.  What an inspiration to all of us who are on the same journey!

All the best to you Hannah and Sebastian.  And hopefully we will see you around town 😉

Here are a few more details on the couple from our interview…

What are your favorite hobbies and activities to do as a couple?

What tangible detail of your wedding day did you love the most? (Cake, dress, special item?)We’re fairly indecisive, if you can’t tell, so we’ll give you four things we loved the most 🙂 Hannah’s dress, The suits, the views, and our signature cocktail – lemon drop (so dang yummy!)
