Lake Eden has a certain charm about it that is undeniable. Snuggled right in the mountains we love this venue!
The Flower Gallery of Asheville does it again!
One of my favorite moments of the day is when Haley saw one of her all time favorite musicians, Erick Baker, show up to play the ceremony! She totally had a “fan girl” moment and it had us all laughing.

What can I say?  Blush Asheville knows how to enhance a gal’s beauty!
Michael hangs with the fellas before ceremony. We love it when the guys take some time to toast the groom!

“Getting ready moments” are some of our favorites.
First look with Haley and Elliot as so beautiful.
Such a fun bridal party!
Candid moments are some of the most important shots to our couples. Michael shoots these while I (Meriah) take the formal family photos.

Not only does Lake Eden have a lake and mountain views,  it also has some fabulous trees!
This first photo below is a totally candid moment between Haley and Elliot before ceremony. Haley truly was one of the happiest brides we have ever seen!
So beautiful.
You can tell that Elliot’s mamma loves her kids. The moment on the left is another candid moment we caught right before Elliot walked the aisle.
Here comes the bride.
The man himself, Erick Baker. And we loved his music!
Ceremony love.
Congrats Haley and Elliot!
Mountain love. (Yes, Haley wanted to chest bump Elliot!)

Onward to the reception!

Cocktail hour candids!

Now introducing…
First dance played by Erick Baker.

Parent dances were full of laughter and happy tears.

This.

Toast were the best though. I’m just saying.

Dance time! And it got a little cra cra.

Congrats Haley and Elliot! Thank you so much for allowing us to share in your amazing day.

Now, enough from us, here is a bit from Haley and Elliot about themselves and their special day! The proposal story is one for the books!!

A bit about Haley: Born in Southwest Florida on a 7 mile long 1 mile wide island (45 min south of Elliot) and is one of four sisters and close with her family. Played Basketball growing up, graduated from the University of Florida and during which interned at the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Fl. Upon graduating in 2008, the hotel company she was working for was building in Asheville and offered her a job. 6 job titles and 11 years later, she is the Director of Sales and Catering at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Asheville for the Kessler Collection!

A bit about Elliot: Elliot grew up in Sarasota, Florida! He is from a great family with 2 brothers, he is also an identical twin. Elliot went to state College of Florida then transferred to Florida State. While at Florida State caught the kitchen/hospitality bug and worked for Bone Fish Grill starting as Line Cook and worked his way up to Managing Partner. He spent 10 years in 6 different cities with Bone Fish. In 2013 he was ready for a new start and moved to Asheville, NC to open Another Broken Egg Café as the General Manager!

How did you meet? Haley and her friend Kati were starting a co-ed kickball team. But we only had 7 girls and no guys.. Kati attended a networking event for young professionals who worked in Biltmore Park and Elliot was there with his best friend Charlie. Elliot was currently wearing a boot on his foot for a broken heal. Kati asked them to play kickball. Small world, Charlie had grown up and gone to high school with Haley. They all became friends that summer of 2015 and remained friends. In December of 2016 Elliot asked Haley out on their first official date at Sierra Nevada and the rest is history!

Describe your first date? Our first official date was at Sierra Nevada. Haley was irritated because she had shown interest in Elliot for a while but he had wanted to remain friends and think about things so she thought that this was another “let’s stay friends” meet up. But Elliot surprised her, got there early, pulled out her chair, opened doors, and told her he wanted to give it a try! Haley was shocked and left town the next day for her Dad’s 70th birthday party to “think about it” Elliot met up with her two weeks later for her birthday with flowers and a smile and they began dating seriously after that.

How long have you been together? We’ve known each other since April 2015, started officially dating in December 2016.

What are your favorite hobbies and activities to do as a couple? Cook, Elliot is better at it- hang out with their pets Bella and Fuzz, play rummikub, Travel, hike, hang out with friends, laugh and high five! J

Who popped the question and HOW? Elliot did- he had this whole elaborate Biltmore at Christmas thing planned and Haley totally ruined it . She was traveling the first 12 days of December for work and her sister’s baby shower and she was home one night in between, he wanted to go to Candlelight that night and Haley totally shot him down and said “hell no! that she just wanted to hang at home with the animals and cook dinner with him.” So, Elliot was cooking dinner, Haley playing DJ in her XL Christmas PJ’s with their cat, Fuzz, on her lap, no makeup and glasses on, and Elliot left the pan he was cooking in and went upstairs. Haley thought he was cold and getting socks because their tile floor is always freezing in the winter. Elliot would say “a good song came on and I just couldn’t wait anymore”

He came downstairs and stood next to her and:

E: “ I Love you”

H: ”I love you too!” (NO idea what was going on!)

E: “ I want to spend the rest of my life with you” and a lot of other really sweet things that all run together when remembering now- “Will you marry me?”

H; “Holy shit!!”

E: “Is that a yes?”

H: “ Yea I said yes!”

Despite Haley attempting to ruin all of Elliot’s really sweet plans! It was absolutely perfect and we burned the dinner we were cooking to laugh and hug and cry and call our families.

Why did you pick Asheville and Lake Eden? Haley dragged Elliot to over 10 venues. We knew we wanted to get married in Asheville, we met there and fell in love there, and we absolutely love the city, and it just felt right. Even with both of us being from Florida, we never really wanted to do it there and have always love NC more. Haley, being in the industry, couldn’t do it at another hotel, she just couldn’t decide and didn’t want to get married at work even though she knew it’s be beautiful and easy to plan! So she let Elliot decide, he picked Lake Eden, the cabins so all of our immediate family could stay there was a big selling point, and the fact that we couldn’t have many more people than 100 as we wanted to keep it to family and very closest friends.

What adjective best describes your spouse on your wedding day? Happy

What tangible detail of your wedding day did you love the most? (Cake, dress, special item?) Erick Baker! Elliot’s Bday- 2018 we were walking down the street in Boone, NC after a fun night out exploring and Haley totally fan girled out at this guy filming something on the side of the road. After a few minutes talking and some hugs and high fives, they left. Haley had no idea but later that same week Elliot reached out to Erick to see if he could hire him as a wedding present. He can’t keep a secret from her to save his life (her either) so they went to a wedding in October and he spilled the beans! We were both so happy to have him there and enjoy his wonderful music with all of our friends and family.

How many guests attended the wedding? 99

What did you and your guests eat at the reception? Buffet of Beef Tenderloin, Lemon and Dill Salmon, Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts, Salad Bread and more. It was so delicious.  Colorful Palate outdid themselves!

What was the flavor of your wedding cake? Vanilla with Strawberry filling and butter cream icing. It was sooo yummy!

What is the one of the funniest things that happened on your wedding day? Haley is a klutz and her biggest worry the whole night was someone falling down the stairs from upstairs of the barn to downstairs. Well, Haley wore sneakers, and despite this, towards the end of the night on the dance floor, stepped in just the wrong spot and sprained her ankle. It was pretty ironic, but definitely didn’t ruin the night.

What was your first dance song and why did you pick it? Erick Baker, “Staring Right Back at Me” We wanted to do one of his songs since he was there and that’s the couple’s favorite song from his new album!

What stood out to you the most when you think of your wedding? The weather was gorgeous. The whole day was just perfect, the perfect day of all of our favorite people. We just enjoyed it so much!

What is on your “bucket list” to do together as a married couple? Travel- we’ve got a whole list of places near and far that we want to tackle. Just spend 11 days in Italy and had the most amazing honeymoon and can’t wait for the next adventure!
