We always enjoy the thrill of getting to photograph a wedding somewhere we haven’t previously been to. Stephanie and Austin’s Rumbling Bald Wedding provided a great experience with this and an even better experience for them and their guests. The beauty of the resort’s waterfront setting added to what was already such a special celebration with plenty of heart and soul and no shortage of reunions and good times.

Let’s hear a little bit more from Stephanie and Austin about themselves and their wedding day…
A bit about Stephanie:
Stephanie is a hairstylist by day and cat lover by night. Full of life and loves to be around friends, family, and, of course, Austin.
A bit about Austin:
Austin is a very out going guy who likes to man the grill and entertain. He loves the Florida Gators and is a die hard fan.
How did you meet?
We met in the ninth grade (2003) but didn’t take our friendship any further until 2013.
Describe your first date?
We never really had a “first date” since we had known each other so long we kind of just started hanging out one day and it felt different from every other time we had hung out. We got together on a friends boat and ever since then we haven’t spent a day apart.
How long have you been together?
a little over 4 years
What are your favorite hobbies and activities to do as a couple?
We enjoy going out with friends, to the farmers market on Saturdays, and spending Sundays with our families.
Who popped the question and HOW?
Austin popped the question on May 20th, 2016 at the Disney Yacht and Beach Club Resort. We went to dinner at the Swan and Dolphin hotel and then took a walk around the boardwalk. He proposed down on the beach at sunset in front of the resort. It was awesome! We stayed over night on Disney property at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
Why did you pick Lake Lure and Rumbling Bald Resort?
Stephanie has been going there her whole life. It’s a sentimental place for Stephanie and her family and she knew as a young kid she wanted to get married there. Austin fell in love with it a few years ago when he went with Stephanie and her family on vacation and knew that a wedding there would be amazing.
What adjective best describes your spouse on your wedding day?
Austin: Eager
Stephanie: Glowing
What tangible detail of your wedding day did you love the most? (Cake, dress, special item?)
after the long wait, Austin finally getting to see….Stephanie’s Dress. So I guess we’d have to say the dress.
How many guests attended the wedding?
Supposed to have 120 but with the hurricane we had 87.
What did you and your guests eat at the reception?
Prime Rib, Parmesan lemon chicken, Shrimp Scampi, and so many yummy sides.
What was the flavor of your wedding cake?
All three tiers were different
Bottom – Vanilla with raspberry compote
Middle – Champagne cake with caramel buttercream
Top – Red velvet cake with cream cheese icing
What is the one of the funniest things that happened on your wedding day?
Definitely the dog running in the reception during Stephanie and her fathers first dance
What was your first dance song and why did you pick it?
“My Best Friend” by Tim McGraw. We have always loved that song and sing it together in the car often.
What stood out to you the most when you think of your wedding?
Stephanie – The smile on Austin’s face when I walked down the aisle. It was really a moment in time I will remember forever.
Austin – The way Stephanie looked, she was so stunning I couldn’t take my eyes off my new wife.
What is on your “bucket list” to do together as a married couple?
To travel and see as much of the world as we can. Also to some day own a home in Lake Lure.
