Asheville Wedding Photographers Look Back on 2016!
This blog is a bit late but it since it took me 10 billion years I waited until we were a bit caught up! As Asheville wedding photographers had SUCH an amazing and full to the brim 2016. Michael and I witnessed 38 “I do’s” last year ranging from elopements to large weddings. We feel so blessed to have been given the opportunity to share in so many people’s lives.
Here are our favorite 10 photos from each. (Let me tell you, it was SO tough to narrow them down to 10! All of these weddings were beautiful and packed with so many amazing moments!)
Kathryn and Brian’s Asheville wedding at The Venue was our first wedding of the year; on New Year’s Day! We have known Kathryn and her family for years and it was a joy to celebrate the New Year with them. They laughed so, so much at this wedding!
Roberta and Jason had a small Waynesville wedding at Broyhill Baptist Home. Roberta is a great friend to the Mozingos. She called me the Saturday prior and told me she was getting hitched on Thursday. This girl is crazy but they absolutely pulled it off in 4 days!
Carolyn and Steve had an Asheville elopement at The Bunn House near downtown Asheville. We had not been to the Bunn House before and it was lovely! Shout out to Tick Tock Concierge for her awesome services and assistance with this wedding.
Ariel and Alex had their Asheville wedding at Homewood. This couple looks like they were “carved out of cream cheese!” SO beautiful. Their details were some of the most unique ones we have ever seen. Check out more of their wedding here… Homewood Wedding Photographer
Jennifer and Lee had a small wedding at Pretty Place chapel. We love Pretty Place and it was such a beautiful day! Jennifer was a knock out!
Clair and Matt eloped to Asheville and were married at the NC Arboretum. (They stayed at the Inn at Biltmore!) They used periscope on their iPhone to allow their friends and family to watch. We also enjoyed getting to shoot their summer reception near Knoxville.
Michael’s cousin Heather was married in 2016. Her and Brian’s wedding was our first at Highland Brewing Company. We love this beautiful red head and her fella so much. Check out more from their wedding here… Highland Brewing Company Wedding
Lisa and Brad had a super fun wedding at the Omni Grove Park Inn. They even surprised their guests by having their 3 rescue dogs make an appearance after the wedding! Check out more from their wedding here… Grove Park Weddings.
David and his family are good friends of ours. We traveled to see him wed his Allison in Folly Beach SC. Their sunny wedding on the beach was such a nice treat. Check out more from their amazing wedding here… Folley Beach Weddings
Allyssa and Derek were married at Claxton Farms. Check out more from their wedding here… Claxton Farm Wedding. The moments from this wedding are some of my favorite. I mean the Llama tried to eat her bouquet!
Alyssa and Trent were some of the coolest people to be around. Their wedding at the Century Room at Packs Tavern was amaze-sauce. We loved their first dance a little TOO much! Check it and other glorious moments out here… Century Room Weddings
Heather and Baryn were our first wedding of the year at the Crest Center and Pavillion. (We shot there a lot in 2016!) This couple had some amazing flowers and details. The weather was simply perfect. (THOSE CLOUDS!) Baryn was a complete goofball and we love that… Heather handled him well! 😉 Check out more from their wedding here… Crest Weddings
Sam and Doug had a small, family only wedding at Hidden River in Swannanoa. We loved the intimacy of this small wedding and how awesome their crazy kids are. (The kiss shot reaction is for real ya’ll. Check out more from their wedding here… Hidden River Weddings
Holly and Ryan had a small wedding at the Vanderbilt Terrace at the Omni Grove Park Inn. Their intimate wedding was so full of beautiful moments. You could really tell those two are in love. The way they looked at each other was precious. Check out more of their wedding here… Grove Park Inn Weddings
Lindsey and Andrew had SUCH a cool military wedding at the Crest Center. Having both been in the Navy we loved the military elements they brought to the wedding. We really connected with this couple. Their smiles are SO genuine and they were so kind to us. Check out more from their wedding here… Crest Wedding Photographer.
Nikki and Bradley are a gorgeous couple… GORGEOUS. We SO enjoyed their wedding at the Grove Park Inn. Check out more from their beautiful wedding here… Grove Park Inn Wedding Photographer The moments with Nikki having her first look with her dad are to die for, you may want to grab a box of tissues!
Shelby and Ron were married at the Monte Vista Hotel in Black Mountain. This was our first wedding we have photographed there. Shelby made a stunning bride… I mean that hair is awesome! Shelby and Ron were super sweet people and we enjoyed getting to share in their day so much.
Kathy and Dave had an awesome July wedding at Burntshirt Vineyard in Hendersonville. This was our first wedding at this vineyard and we loved it. (We don’t often get to shoot in vineyards.) Kathy and Dave had such a great time on their wedding day. We were sad to hear that only 6 weeks after this wedding Dave lost his mother. The moments of her with Dave at this wedding mean so much more now and are absolutely precious. Check out more from their beautiful wedding here… Burntshirt Vineyard Wedding.
While on vacation to Panama City Beach we were out one evening shooting photos with our friends (whom we vacation with). We noticed a wedding about to start down further on the beach when a guy came up to us. He told us that the photographer didn’t show up for the wedding and asked us to photograph it. We hesitated, I mean, we were on vacation! However, we decided to a “do unto others…” move and captured their short ceremony. It started 10 minutes after we were asked! Shew! God blessed this day with a GLORIOUS sunset, one of the best beach sunsets I have ever seen. Congrats Anita and Mike!
Kelly and Jason were married at The Farm in Candler. This couple laughed A LOT, especially Kelly. She was simply radiant with joy. And we loved Jason’s reaction to her coming down the aisle! Check out more from their fun wedding here… The Farm Wedding Photographer
Angie and Charles eloped to the Inn on Biltmore Estate in August. Ya’ll, I have never seen it downpour at a wedding like it did while we were trying to photograph this couple after their ceremony. Oh my! However, Angie and Charles were such good sports about it. We had an absolute blast hanging out with them and while we “waited it out” Angie decided she wanted “rain shots” anyway. And may I just say her hair and makeup held up fabulously?! So beautiful.
Elina and Sam get the “most colorful wedding of the year” award! Their wedding at Yesterday Spaces in Leicester was complete awesomeness. I am a HUGE fan of colorful details so the floral on this one made my day. Elina and Sam were killer to be around as they really wanted their wedding to be focused on fun. Check out more of their wedding here… Yesterday Spaces Wedding
Jamie and Sam were married on Labor Day weekend. They asked us Mozingos to focus on capturing them having fun and they didn’t fall short in provided the moments! Their wedding at the Inn at Biltmore Estate was a blast and was on SUCH a gorgeous day. Check out more from their wedding here… Biltmore Wedding Photography
Chrissy and Charlie were married at Pretty Place Chapel and had their reception at the Mountain Lodge in Hendersonville. I got to ride up the mountain to the ceremony with Chrissy and SO enjoyed getting to know her. Their wedding was on a beautiful September day and we love, love, love the sunny shots in the woods!
Shay was the third and final of her siblings to be married within a 14 month time frame. We Mozingos were blessed to be a part of all 3! Having known Shay since she was 3 I was honored to get to share in her day. I kept looking at her thinking, “I can’t believe she is a bride and so beautiful.” Check out more of their wedding here… Canton Weddings
Ashley and Joe had a huge, glorious wedding at Biltmore Estate. It was our first wedding on the Tennis Lawn and our first reception on the Italian Gardens. The wedding was stunning but not as stunning as Ashley was. Holy cow! I loved the details of the top of her dress! Check out more from their wedding here… Biltmore Wedding Photographers
Michael’s other cousin, Haley, was married at Appalachain Farm Weddings. Haley’s sister Heather was married back in April and both weddings were so unique to each sister! Haley and Dane’s wedding was on a farm and had the cutest ring bearer of the year (we may be partial since it was our son, Ezra!) 🙂 Check out more from their wedding here… Appalachian Farm Wedding
Ashleigh and Adrian did not let Hurricane Matthew dampen their spirits. Their wedding at The Crest was a success despite the unrelenting rain. The sweetness of emotion at this wedding produced some of my favorite “moment junkie” photos of the year. Check out more of their wedding here… Crest Wedding Photographer
Kelly and Jared had us photograph our first ever wedding at Hawksdene! I bonded with this couple because we got to spend some time together on a “Rock the Frock” session a few days after their wedding. (See the last image of Kelly trashing her dress!) They. Are. Awesome. Check out more of their wedding here… Hawksdene Wedding and then go check out their “Rock the Frock” session here… Asheville Wedding Photography
Caroline and Jake had a gorgeous October wedding at the Omni Grove Park Inn. Caroline made a stunning bride and I adored her dress. (Just look at the back of that dress!) Michael and I still get tickled when we think about their reception… the wildest one to date and I think they would be proud of that fact. 😉 Check out more from their fun wedding here… Grove Park Wedding Photographers
We were fortunate to get to spend almost the whole weekend with Alex and Chris. This STUNNING couple was married at the Inn at Biltmore Estate on a gorgeous day in October. We loved all the little details of their wedding that made it so special. Alex’s dog, Henry, even made an appearance. But what stood out to me was how excited Chris was to marry his Alex. Their joy was contagious. Their wedding is a must see on our blog! Check it out here… Biltmore Inn Weddings
Jess and Nate had a Crest Pavilion wedding in October. Even though it was a bit windy and chilly that day the color was gorgeous and we were even blessed with a rainbow! We enjoyed getting to capture the pure joy of their wedding day. Check out more of this cool wedding here… Crest Pavillion Weddings
Jay and Dina switched things up on us for their wedding event at Biltmore in October! We actually did their first look and “Bride and Groom” photos the Tuesday before their Saturday wedding! We LOVE that they did that. We had extra time with them and even got to enjoy Jay’s renown pizza with them after the Tuesday session. Can I also add that this was probably one of the best sunsets ever!?!?! Check out more of their awesome wedding here… Lioncrest Weddings at Biltmore
Gabby and Jake had a super gorgeous Jewish wedding at the Crest back in October. Gabby was G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S. But more than that her personality reflected the beauty that she is. May I also add that those flowers on that wedding arch are kind of crazy good. To check out more of their wedding click here… Crest Wedding Photography
We had a lot of weddings at the Crest back in the Fall. We made it our goal to photograph each Crest wedding uniquely since each of our couples were uniquely different! Jess and Tyler were married the first weekend in November at Crest. We were so happy to see there was still color on the trees! The parent dancing moments were some of my favorites from this wedding as well as the toast shots! Check out more of this gorgeous day with this sweet couple here… Crest Wedding Photographer
Jennifer and Morgan were married at the Champagne cellar at Biltmore in December. Their small wedding was perfect for the intimacy of the champagne cellar. Morgan may win “funniest groom of the year” award as he had us in stitches while we were traveling around the estate taking photos. This also may be my favorite “father daughter dance” photo ever. Dad even wiped away her tears! See that photo and more up on this blog post… Champagne cellar wedding at Biltmore
Bridgette and Terry had a smal Christmas wedding at the Inn at Biltmore. Biltmore at Christmas is STUNNING and they go all out. December sunsets may also be the best all year. SERIOUSLY this was one for the books. And how gorgeous is that Christmas bouquet? The crazy thing about that is that Bridgette and Terry both made it and have NEVER made a bouquet before. They said they had the best time making it together!
Our last wedding of the year was near New Years at The Grove Park Inn. Kelly and Jeff had their ceremony at the Grove Park Country Club. Kelly being a wedding planner herself in Florida knew exactly what she wanted on her wedding day, small and intimate. What a joy to get to share in their day!
What a year! We hope you have enjoyed looking back on our year as much as we enjoyed getting to be a part of it. We seriously have the best clients ever. Onward to 2017!
