I love a good Biltmore Proposal and they are pretty popular… I mean come on, this place is SO magically romantic. A Christmas proposal at Biltmore Estate? YES please!
Nathan did it up right. Not only did he and I scheme up a sneaky plan to pop the question at the END of their session (yes, lots of lying was involved) BUT he invited all of their family to come from as far away as Oklahoma to witness the proposal. Even her dog came to be a part of the proposal. All unbeknown to Hannah.
Nathan and I devised a plan that allowed me to get some day time shots around Biltmore since he wanted the big moment to be at night in front of the Christmas tree. We pretended that I was hired by Biltmore and was a part of their “package deal” since they were staying at the Lodge at Antler Hill. I have to say for those who know me I am a TERRIBLE lair… but I think I pulled it off! We had the best time going around the property shooting through sunset and waiting on the right moment. These two had SO much chemistry and I enjoyed not only getting to photograph them but getting to know them as well!
I love that Nathan wanted their families to be a part of the proposal. Their families hung out at the top of the zig zag wall and waited for me to text them. I lied and said I was texting my hubby… now who texts their hubby right in the middle of the shoot when it it SUPER cold and the clients have just taken off their coats for the photo!?!?! But then Nathan pointed out her family coming down from the wall. The tears started and then Nathan popped the question. It was awesome!
Here are a few of my favorite moments from our shoot and the proposal. Congrats Nathan and Hannah!
